About Evva
This Amur leopard originates from Russia, hence its Russian name Evva meaning life. This is sadly ironic because she is at risk of extinction, poaches are hunting her for her fur and her body parts. The eyes of my painting remind us of her spirit and longing to cling onto life. It leads us to question, who are the animals here?
